Downtown Doggos

Bentley, 4

Now Bentley was just getting started for the day and was incredibly curious about what was doing on around town. He wanted to move, move, move! Fortunately, he was kind enough to let me get these great shots of him just outside of Main Street Garden Park! What a little model!

Bruno, 1 1/2

Young and full of spunk, little Bruno would make a great circus dog! He hopped around on his hind legs many times (unfortunately I didn’t get a good shot of it!) just asking to jump and perform.

Exe, 7 months

I have to admit, I just couldn’t get enough of Exe! He was all puppy and all love. So curious, he kept bounding for the camera until I agreed to pet and hug him, then he would run around again in excitement

Fitz, 1 1/2 years

Who doesn’t just love a dog with a mohawk!? And our first Fitz of the week wears it so well; he has a really good groomer, don’t you think?! But don’t be fooled, he is sweet and eager to please…he’s just sure to do it in style!

Fitz, 2 1/2

He may be our second Fitz of this week, but don’t count him as second fiddle! This strong, athletic boy is just as eager as the rest of them to explore downtown. Walking around with Bentley, he was keen on moving and sniffing and seeing what was new since the last time he was out.

Kingston, 16!!

Kickin’ it in Pacific Plaza Park with Fitz (the first one) was this little guy, Kingston. He was definitely holding his own with that yungin’, making sure he knew who was running this show!

Lucy, 10

I was so excited when I saw this little lady struttin’ down N. Ervay Street I had to go out of way to meet her! I hadn’t yet had an opportunity to photograph a pug!!! Curious and cautious, friendly and proud, Lucy was a delight!

Sasha, 14 months

Cavalier King Charles Spaniel’s are so adorable! Those long, floppy ears are all it takes to make me melt when I see one. Sasha was a curious, happy little guy when I came upon him getting some exercise on Main St. just in front of the Giant Eyeball! He really wanted to say hi, so I had the pleasure of petting him for a few minutes before we got these great shots!

Winston, 3

Who doesn’t enjoy a lazy, beautiful day in the park? Winston does for sure, but don’t be fooled, this pup has energy for days! Before settling down for a rest, he sniffed and eagerly explored Pacific Plaza Park, nosing in the grass and saying hi to other doggos.

Waggin’ Tails on the Katy Trail

Addie, 5 months

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again…I love Golden Retrievers! The only thing better is a baby golden! And here’s one for you do ooh and ahh over! Very friendly, energetic, and boy does she love sticks! She will definitely keep her pet-parents healthy with all that energy!

AJ, 5

I’m always amazed by how so many Goldendoodles have Golden Retriever personality traits. AJ was no exception! So eager to please and well trained, he sat right away when told to. I think he liked having his photo taken, though he was excited to get back to walkin’!

Apollo, 5

He may not be one of the Olympians from Greek mythology, but you can stand back in awe of this beautiful boy anyway! With his great, thick coat and those beautiful eyes he is certainly something magnificent to behold! And to sweeten the deal, he was so gentle and eager to please.

Cooper, 7

Like they say, size doesn’t matter and Cooper will provide it! He can keep pace with the best of ’em with his boundless energy and excitement. He was so exited for his close-up he could barely contain himself, but we did get this great shot of him. And what a smile!

Drogo, 1

The name Drogo will send chills of excitement up the spine of any female Game of Thrones fan! And chills of fear down mens’! And this Drogo…well he will be heldwith equal awe! Keen eyes, beautiful markings, strong and muscular. I think he lives up to his name well! No one will soon mess with this guy!

Jake, 5

I just cannot get over how like big teddy bears Goldendoodles look! Look at this guy! Wouldn’t you just love to cuddle up with him?! Sweet and friendly was Jake. curious and full of spirit!

Lacey, 10

You would never know this energetic pup was 10! Eager to keep walkin’ she stopped a few minutes so I could get these photos of her. She even posed! I suspect, though, she’d also be happy with a scratch and a treat too!

Marcello, 12

Now, I was surprised to hear this beautiful guy was 12. His calm, aloof demeanor was all Husky, but youth was written all over his face! Of course, he had the stunning blue eyes typical to his breed, but their shape made them all the more striking. Definitely a heart-breaker among dogs!

Roscoe, 2

Roscoe was just getting started on his walk when I met him. He was very eager to get moving and observed everything around him. He may have just been looking around, but the turns are great for majestic photos! The texture and color of his fur lent themselves beautifully to black & white!

Sam, 8

This old man was worn out from his walk. Still, being a Golden, he was happy to comply and have some photos taken. I’m so glad he did! His calm, soft eyes and grey nose remind me a of wise and gentle grandfather. Thank you Sam!

Zoe, 4

Zoe had no time for something so frivolous as a photoshoot, but when you’re this beautiful you don’t even have to work at it! A shiny red coat, glowing golden eyes…all of it caught on camera!

State Thomas Strutters

Abby, 2

This sweet little rescue might have been shy, but not about wanting her belly rubbed! She laid right down and showed me her belly! Of course, I thanked her for allowing me to photograph by obliging!

Archer, 1

Archer was out getting some exercise with his people-parents when I came upon him in Griggs Park. He, too, was a little shy and needed some coaxing from mom and dad to feel comfortable. But once he calmed down he was very obliging with his poses.

Bella, 1

Bella wasn’t really sure about me. Can I blame her? “Why is this strange human sticking this thing in front of her face?” Still, she did bear with me and at least let me get one shot of her. Thank you Bella!

Juju, 5

Whenever I see a French Bulldog, I just want to squeal! Juju was no exception. Strong, assessing, and relaxed Juju hung back, checking things out with his ears perked up the entire time. He exhibited the cool patience only an old soul can possess.

Lily, 2

Who doesn’t just go crazy for for a dog who looks like a little teddy bear! Pure white fur and spunk for days, Lily was more than just a pretty face. Though small, she chased much bigger dogs letting them know, in no uncertain terms, who was boss. Now that’s my kinda gal!

Lola, 4 1/2

Talk about a dog you want to cuddle up with! Lola looks like a teddy bear come to life! She was as sweet and eager to please as she was cute. She would just look over at me and I would get a great shot of her. I think I could have spent the entire day with her! Until next time, Lola!

Melrose, 3

Melrose definitely wanted to know what was going on, which meant her ears were always perked. That makes for a GREAT photo! She told me she is very much enjoying this quarantine because she gets to spend so much time with mom. I’m sure she is not alone in feeling that way!

Moose, 1 1/2

Yes, I am a total sucker for a Golden Retriever (having one myself) and I squealed with delight when I met Moose. I loved how he nearly blended in with the brick wall. He was very playful, of course, giving me lots to work with…even a big yawn!

Sawyer, 7

The scruffy fur! The sweet demeanor! Sawyer’s face speaks of wisdom! I could have fallen in love with him if I spent too much time with him! He was eager to please and very curious with a calm energy. How delighted I was when I saw him again the next day while getting my cappuccino in State Thomas!

Snuggles, 11

Strike a pose! And that’s exactly what Snuggles does! All you have to do is say “Wanna go bye?” and she perks right up and looks straight at you. Though, I think she started to get suspicious when I said it so many times. Then it really was time for her to go and she strutted right out of there with her people-parents fully aware of who was really in charge!

Stark, 1

If only Tony Stark had been wise enough to have this guy in his family his fate may have been different! Despite his imposing stare and hanging mouth, this Stark was full of curiosity, enthusiasm and was keenly aware of everything going on around him!

Queen Victoria, 1 1/2

God save the Queen…and we’re not talking about the queen of England! THIS Queen Victoria was so excited to greet me she could hardly contain herself, which, of course, made me very happy, even if I had to keep my distance.

(King*) George, 2 1/2

Talk about regal! George posed like he knew he proudly represented royalty! He looked almost like a statue you’d see in front of a grand old estate! George and Queen Victoria should lead the next Dallas Dog parade (if that’s not a thing, we should make it a thing!)

Yawny, 3

Yawny was out for a day of training when I met him and his pet-parent. His keen observation and quick recall was very impressive. He was a little leery of me at the start, but once he understood that I was his friend he wanted to rub on me and be petted. A very good boy and one you want at your side, for sure!

Andy, 6 1/2

Andy is the sweetest of pups. He is loyal, playful, protective, and gentle. He loves to play fetch, so much, in fact, he has to be closely regulated or he’ll make himself sick. Yes, he is my dog and I wasn’t going to include him because this blog is about ALL the Dogs of Dallas (not just mine), but I got this adorable shot of him and had to share it!

Uptown Pups March 29, 2020

Arya, 1

As I was heading down Carlisle I came upon 1 year old Arya. She was not shy about her eagerness to to the park so she could fetch her tennis ball! Still, she was happy to show off for the camera!

Boo, 3

Who doesn’t love a gentle giant? Sweet and gentle was definitely Boo when I met him walking past Gloria’s. He was shy with the camera, but loving between takes!

Cavanaugh, 17!!

Now here’s a dog with spunk! I met Cavanaugh walking down McKinney one quiet afternoon. We wasn’t sure at first, but once he got comfortable he couldn’t stay away!

Dirk, 5

Those long, floppy ears; that chocolate brown coat! Dirk spent his Sunday lazing in the park with his people. Chill and loyal, he preferred to stay close to his family and pose from a distance. He knows who feeds him!

Jack, 3

Such a variety of color in this cutie! From brown to white to red everywhere and beautiful yellow/orange eyes, I could have spent hours photographing Jack. I think he would have loved it too!

Kona, 3

Black dogs are notoriously difficult to photography because of their dark coats, but Kona did a great job holding just long enough to get this adorable shot! Coupled with those gorgeous eyes! Wow!

Maverick, 8

Now this dog loves to smile, even to himself! He showed off as I approached, smiling and wiggling, like he couldn’t wait to have his photo taken! He posed like he knew how beautiful he’d look against the trees!

Mila, 7

She may be small, buts she knows exactly what she wants! She loved the camera and was a natural, posing in the cutest way possible – head cocked, ear raised.

Mocha, 9 weeks

Everyone loves puppies; there flopping ears, their soft fur, how excited they are about everything! Mochas was no exception! The love she shared with me when I said hi had me smiling for hours.

Murphy, 2

Amazingly, Murphy was on his third (yes, THIRD!) walk of the day! He was so full of energy and curiosity I thought for sure it was his first. He loved everything thing around him so much…he even looks like he’s smiling!

Pippy, 8 months

Pippy had all the pep her name suggests and wanted nothing more than to say hi. Her keen eyes watched everything around her with interest, just waiting to play!

Quinn, 8

Worn out from the excitement of her day, Quinn was a little shy with the camera, but a sweetheart. Like her brother, Jack (above), she had a beautifully colorful coat and a calming energy.

Sheriff

Sheriff’s nose absolutely charmed me; so sweet and tan. He was like a big teddy bear that wanted nothing more than to please his family. He even took commands from me at a distance! Such a sweetie!
